This limited-time only accommodation plan allows guests the private viewing of Nikkari-Aoe, the famous sword associated with the Kyogoku Clan of the Marugame Domain, which will be exhibited for the first time in three years.
Enjoy a luxurious accommodation experience inspired by Nikkari-Aoe, from rickshaw pickup to evening cocktails in the castle tower night lounge.
Original drinks and wasanbon sugar candies are also available in the Enjukaku Annex, where a hanging scroll on the oshigata engravings of the Nikkari-Aoe is on special display.

Your journey begins when you enter through the “Taikomon” Ote Ichi no mon gate, which has been announcing the time to Marugame Castle and its surroundings since the Edo period, continuing to this day with “Taiko” drum strikes. When you enter through the gate, you will hear the striking of the drum that signals the arrival of a guest. Following that, Marugame Taiko drums will perform a welcoming performance.

丸亀城入城体験

城泊のスタートは、江戸時代から丸亀城と城下に時を知らせ続け、今もなお続く時太鼓が打ち鳴らされる「太鼓門」大手一の門から入城。この時だけは、ご宿泊者様の入城を知らせる合図として特別に打ち鳴らします。そののち、まるがめ和太鼓にて歓迎の演奏を。

大手一の門は、1670年に建築された櫓門で国の重要文化財。江戸時代には、藩士が太鼓を打って時間を知らせていたことから別名「太鼓門」とも呼ばれています。その伝統を引き継ぎ、今もなお「時太鼓」として正午に打ち鳴らされています。

この太鼓文化の伝統からか現代の丸亀文化においても特別な場面で演奏される丸亀和太鼓は、まるがめ太鼓保存会がその文化を継承しています。

丸亀うちわ制作体験

海と山に囲まれた風光明媚な地、丸亀が金比羅参詣の流行に伴い往来する人々でにぎわった時代。参拝客の“涼”を支え、土産品として人気を博し、今世へと引き継がれている「丸亀うちわ」。

うちわ職人の中でも難しい技術や技法を習得した伝統工芸士から直接教えてもらえるうちわ作り。竹うちわの生産シェア日本一の伝統を守る職人さん達と「心」を通わせる特別な時間。

煎茶道体験

5代藩主 京極高中公も愉しんだだろう、現存する日本最古の煎茶席である通常非公開の「観潮楼」にて、中津万象園の趣を感じながら安倍流家元によるお手前をいただく特別な体験。 一般的に知られる抹茶道とは違った煎茶道の流儀を学ぶ。
